How can you recommend an Osteo if we don't know what the OP's injury is ?

OP I know one North of Oxford, she never treated me but we spoke a lot about my knee injury (she was the gf of a very good friend). In addition to working herself she runs a small business with physios in various sports clubs. If convenient for you I'll post contact details.

@franco, its one branch of medicine, IMO it depends on the problem. I wouldn't see an Osteo for the rehab post my broken ACL.

EDIT: I have seen a Osteo for back issues FYI

I completely agree that it is only one branch of medicine but we do treat post op patients, particularly knee injuries. It is a common misconception that Osteo's only treat back/spinal issues but we treat the whole body. Again we are not a panacea but I would not discount osteopathic treatment on the basis that it wouldn't be your first choice.

Unfortunately, you have highlighted a common issue - public perception and awareness of what conditions osteopath's treat.

All osteopaths are trained to treat all manner of sports injuries from diagnosis, through to management, so any presentation whatsoever would not phase an osteopath (or a 'physio' worth the title)

After all, when you injure your back (which is what all osteo's ever treat, right?) the healing process is the same. The back injury person wants to get back to normal activity levels as does the 'sports person'
