would it be possible to do you own uplifts at innerleithen?
group of 20 riders with 1 big van to shuttle riders up to the top of the dh?

or can you book a uplift day for a big group for sole use.

You can book a private day as far as I know. I think it has to be a weekday though.

Can't imagine you'd get permission to drive yourselves up though, but you never know.

There are private uplift days at inners all the time. I suspect Steve at I:Cycles would be a good person to ask for info.

In theory the gate onto the uplift road's supposed to be locked. Often isn't... But it's not welcome regardless. Speak to Tally, they run a good op there and 20 people's a good start on a busload.

If you can pedal to the top and back down 8 times in a day on a big bike without compromising your descents, I'm impressed 😉

We did 4-and-a-half, but only because I was on a mission to make a mate quit before I did. Victory has rarely felt more pointless. Man I love Tally and Elliott.

Suddenly a triple chainset looks quite sensible,

A lap of the XC route and half a dozen downhill runs is good day.
Wouldn't fancy it on a full-on DH bike, although I suspect that it may be a bit quicker on the downs it may take a little longer to get up. Car-park to little hut thingy is usually just over 30mins on this.

That must be the last of that era of Marin DH frames that never cracked! Either that or you really need to go check some welds....

It's all FCS land, and you need to ask their permission to take motorised vehicles on the land, including fire roads. It's a working forest, and also busy with mtb riders, walkers, horsey folk etc.

I guess you could ask ??

However I think a day on the uplift is about £30/35 odd per person, and the hourly run is the most anybody would want to do anyway, so works quite well.
