Overlapping Invisiframe - extra protection, or more places for dirt and water to get under an edge?
More places for dirt and water to get under IMHO.
Invisitape is good stuff, but for a rear mud hugger, I’ll add some thicker tape as even two layers of invisitape doesn’t cut it. Otherwise never needed to overlap it.
You'll get muck under it and it will be more "visiframe".
Still certainly no worse than, say, using gloss helitape on a matt frame and putting it over welds. And better than something rubbing.
If you do want to double it up neatly, I would do patches of decreasing size on top of each other.
I don't want to double it up as such. I've followed the instructions and everything is in the right place. However, one of the last pieces will overlap another one. It's in a high wear/high muck area so just wondering if it would be better to trim or to overlap.
There's no way other pieces could have been fitted any differently to avoid this clash.
Other than this little hiccup, I'm really chuffed with the stuff and how well I've got it on.
I'd trim it and put another piece over the join. I doubled up with some generic helitape on cable rubs and heel rub spots like this
Trim it but practise on a spare bit, I think I found a Stanley knife gave the best cut but cutting from one side was cleaner than the other
