Ive got Sram xo cranks and am after some oval rings to try but cant seem to find any with ramps and pins for a 2 x10 setup has anyone got any ideas
It's no help... but I've only seen them for road setups?
Yes me too
Not sure what bolt pattern your Cranks Are..
But For mtb I think the only options for 2X oval are doval or Rotor
You can pick doval up on EBay from korea where they're made.. And sometimes pretty cheaply.
I ran a set of dovals for a while and They where OK.. They're not a pure oval shape though like most narrow Wide ovals are..
Rotor you can pick up from the European websites for the best deals.. But they're certainly not Cheap!
Isn't that going to be quite niche?
Can't be narrow/wide obviously.
I got mine for a x11 XTR setup from here but they have SRAM options and for other makes. Easy to order and came quickly and the rings were long lasting. Google Ari Corone oval rings if the link below doesn't work is invisible (I seem to be having problems with this)
Ari Corone
Ive dropped Absolute black an email so i'll see what comes back and the Ari Corone site looks interesting so thanks
I think the smallest you'll be able to get with absoluteBlack is a 46/30, which is (obviously) a sub-compact road setup - I know this because I'm looking at solutions for my on-road/off-road/commuter/tourer. For me it's likely going to be 105 crank/fd running that pair of chainrings ( https://absoluteblack.cc/oval-road-chainrings-30-46-and-32-48-for-110-4bcd/) with XT-sgs rd and 11-42 cassette (and a Wolf Tooth Tanpan to get 105 shifters working with the XT rd). I doubt that will have a short enough gear for mountain biking?
I've got a Rotor 3D double chainset with oval rings that has very little use. It's 175mm arms and a 24mm spindle, can't remember what the rings are without getting up in the loft but they're MTB size. PM me if you're interested and I'll take some pics.
