Hi folks,

Anyone know if there is an accessible outside water tap in any of these areas?

Edale
Castleton
Hayfield
Hope
Bamford
Hathersage
Grindleford
Goyt Valley

I don’t like carrying a rucksack and can only fit 1 bottle on my hard tail.

Cheers

I don't know about an outdoor one, but drop into the Outside shop in Hathersage and they will fill it up for you.

Download the Refill app. It was mentioned on here a few days ago by Gnusmas.

It lists places that are willing to top up bottles with water.

There used to be one low down on the wall to the left, I think, of the door of the original 18 Bikes shop in Hope, no idea if it's still there and useable though. Now the Valley Rambler shop, I think. The one I always use is the dog bowl tap on the side of the Fairholmes visitor centre, right hand side as you look at the front of the buildong, just round the corner from the tea hatch.

Quite a few campsites with water too if you're polite and discrete.

Edit: Peak District National Park website says you can get bottles filled on request at Castleton visitor centre too.

Depends how much of a mummy's boy you are, but on the road after Jacob's Ladder between Upper Booth and Barber Booth there is a lovely clear mountain spring coming out of the bank on the right hand side of the road.
I've been using it for years, but milennials probably think it will kill them in 3 seconds flat.

Drinking from random water sources is one of those things, it's fine until it's not, but round here, you're more likely to end up with a short episode of the squits rather anything serious. It does sound very manly though.

+1 for the Refill app. Its showing 4 places in Castleton and the Moorland Centre in Edale.

There's a tap somewhere on the left side of the road somewhere between leaving Barber Booth and Edale carpark. I forget which Lane it's on but was there a few years ago. You have the public toilets at Edale carpark then also at Castleton carpark.

For customers. Not any passer by.

Now where's that guy who got peed off the Mountain Rescue wouldn't fill his bottle? He must be an expert in these matters

I think they'd be more than happy with just the water `:-)
