I just replaced my worn ODI Ruffians with a pair of Outland Enduros (£12 from LBS). I'm very pleased with them:

1) Cheap
2) No rolling (the ODIs had a bit of movement)
3) A wedge system that means you can add 30mm more width to the bars
4) Reasonably grippy feel so far (yet to try them in the wet)
5) Fairly thin profile which I like

Worth a punt when you want new lock-on grips IMO

How does that work?

Are they these? http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/mountain-bike-handlebar-grips/outland-enduro-12-lock-on.html

what jfeb said - how do they work and does the fact they are off the end of the bars reduce their secure grip?

They are a tenner on the bay, also check out Spank grips, they are the same grip but with the outer clamp as a full alloy end cap..

Good grips, I had em in brown and the grip itself is more plastic feeling than the more rubber feel of the Odi grips, they last well but when worn are not as grippy as the Odi's cos of the plastic feel.

Really? No way in hell would I have 15mm of grip just hanging off the end of my bars!
