Well if you haven't got any pictures you could at least tell us where this was. A link to google maps will do just fine but an OS grid reference would be better.

Remember being in a similar situation in Epping Forest . Managed to lose my original frogskins while riding round (it was a long time ago). Went back along the trails I had ridden and just by the side of some innocuous singletrack were a couple going at it hammer and tongs.
Needless to say, sods law, I found my lost oakleys 10-15 yards from the duo. Rode off sheepishly having picked them up. I should probably have bunnyhopped over them. (Not used the obvious frogskin references for the sake of decency.)
