Use one of these Garmin mounts on my road bike...

I have access to a few different lights, but sadly mounting anything half decent on my road bike normally isn't easy (Garmin and cables and all sorts in the way). This is the one I want to leave on the bike, a Yinding YD-U2X2...

K-Edge already do a combined Garmin/Go-Pro mount as such...

My thoughts are to try to create some kind of a mount (or modify an existing one) to mount the light underneath (the plastic mount is removable from the bottom of the Yinding leaving a screw hole that coule be utilised). I wouldn't be too bothered about adjusting the light angle (a fixed 15 degree wedge or something would be sufficient to point the light down at the correct angle whilst keeping the Garmin at the correct angle) so it could be pretty simple.

Anyone created such a thing, or know of one commercially available already?

Gloworm do a GoPro mount. Could probably be modded.

One cute thing about the extensions I linked above is that most of them, including the Acor, use a 22.2mm bar, which can be neatly replaced with one of these:

Which is rather handy if you're riding longer than your Garmin can cope with, or just want to charge a phone. To make it weather resistant you can slice an inch off an old handlebar grip (closed end type, obviously) to make a little shower cap for it.

Can't find that, but have just seen the new(er) Gloworm helmet mount. Looks like judicious use of servo tape and/or zip ties might keep it stuck to the underside of a Garmin mount.

See where you're coming from with your first suggestion Bez, would work but look rather clumsy/cluttered.

Liking your thinking about using an external power cell to mount the light on though!

The Gloworm mount uses the sprung 'shoe' from GoPro, to fit into their stick on mounts. A GoPro mount stuck to the bottom of a Garmin mount might work but it's not the same part of the system as the above k-edge.

Of course if you have access to a 3d printer anything is possible! 🙂

Should look OK… The Bar Fly is pretty narrow so it shouldn't look much less tidy than a normal out-front mount once you've got a Garmin sat on it. YMMV though 🙂

That said, if you take the K-Edge dual mount approach then KCNC make a couple of GoPro adapters that just screw into things, so they might work. Or you might be able to do something with one of the tripod-mount adapters.

The Knog Qudos attaches to a standard GoPro mount. Also includes a bracket so you can have the GoPro and the light side by side.
Don't know if its any good as a light.

Looks like the raceware one is perfect. I also now have a way to find this again for the point where I do get a garmin
