You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I currently have an Osprey viper 13 backpack which is gradually coming to the end of its life, they don't appear to make the viper any more but the syncro and raptor both look like they could be OK.
Anyone tried both and found a preference?
I tried both on in Evans and found the Raptor to be far more comfortable and stable (in as much as a shop fitting can tell). Went for the Raptor and very happy with it, got it for £75 off Amazon with some voucher code they had
If you tried them on in a physical bike shop, you should buy from there. That's my personal rule, anyway. Besides, don't Evans do price matching?
Mike Ashley versus Amazon? I'm going to hell anyway. Besides, they are £110 quid in Evans and my morals don't stretch to £35. Besides whatabout anyway I've bought plenty of stuff from Evans over the years.
That said I wouldn't do that in my LBS
I replaced my Viper with a Syncro 15 last year.
Very happy with it. Perfect for my commutes as it comes with a bright green/yellow rain cover!
Hi
I recently picked up a new model -Osprey Siskin 14 and very happy with it so far.
Got it for £68 from Sigma Sports.
Minor quibbles- The bladder is a different design to the one I had in my Raptor and personally I don’t think it’s as good as the older “stiff” version as it’s harder to get in and out of the bag but that’s being picky.
Have also replaced bite valve with a new design camelback one but that’s just personal preference as I find the lock mechanism easier to use on the move.
Cheers
Steve
