Mate is looking at the Orza Loki 27.5+

To me it looks very short - almost Dutch bike! But that could just be the photos. Has anyone tried one?

Guessing you mean Orbea?

Short compared to some new school options, but not short at all if you're comparing with bikes from say 2 yrs ago.

Due to massive stand-over, no problem to size up to get the reach you want.

Nice bikes.

Orbea Loki?!? Yup got one and it definitely isn't short. Dutch bike? Hahaha, not at all. Great geometry and loads of fun.

A large is the same reach as a medium Patrol, which is quite long.

I rode a medium Patrol and it was great, I now ride a medium Loki which is just as fast downhill, fits great. I have ridden a large in anger as well over a full day and it was nice too, a bit more stable but less agile for me.

As noted, very low standover and upsizing not an issue.

If your mate is anywhere near Edinburgh we have a demo bike. In fact, my one was a demo as well before I fell in love and stole it :p

In all the years of getting bikes to test its the only one I've ever bought with my own money at the end of the test period!

LBS offered me one for the day; out of curiosity I tried to get a (tubeless) tyre off, just to check if I could do it on the trail. Gave up in the end and took a Rallon because all attempts failed. I used to take motocross tyres off with a spade - felt like I'd need one for the Loki.

Eh bob? The chonicles are quite a loose fit on the stock wheels. Once the bead is broken away from the sidewall you shouldn't even need a tyre lever.

We are now renaming them Orza 😀

I test rode one and it didn't feel at all short compared with my V1 Bronson although it's certainly shorter than my Hightower. I'm not a fan of hardtails but liked the Loki.
