I'd like to put my os maps that I used on my edge 810 on the edge 820 my wife bought me for my birthday.

How do I go about installing them?

Hopefully one of you beautys can help?

Cheers!

Skip to 2.30mins in after you have installed the sd card 🙂

But the Edge 820 doesn't have a MicroSD slot.

If you have bought the maps as a download or on DVD, they will be locked to your old Garmin. So they won't work on the new one.

To get maps on the 820 you connect it to a pc, it'll show up as external storage and then you save the map file in the GARMIN folder.

It's true the os map is locked to the 810. I spent three hours downloading it to an 820 last week to find this out.

It depends on how you bought it, I think. My OS maps were on a micro SD card.

Slight hijack, but where does everyone reckon the best OSM maps are these days?

I'm using the talkytoaster ones, only put them on a few days ago so can't comment on those but I'm sure I've had the same ones on my 800 for years with no complaints.

I like these but they only update the UK map annually. Its hence missing lots of stuff (including some I've added to OSM myself)
