My Rise has developed a bit of a creak - checked the obvious potential culprits (headset/stem/), but seem to recall a. Our if folks mentioning some of the suspension components needing a bit of TLC as a common cause.

Any pointers from Rise owners?

Usually the rear suspension bearings - out near the axel, are the ones that creak due to the very limited movement they have, and they are in the firing line of the crud. Took me ages to find mine - did all other bearings and these were the last.

Seconded, pivot bearings seem to be the usual cause, even the main pivot with its weird compression tightening method is worth looking into.

One other thing (depending on the model) is to check for the 'X' of doom on the chainstay brace. These are known for being quite snappy on the pre-2023 hydro models and it appears as an 'x' crack radiating from the drain hole of the brace. It's also the cause of excessive lateral play in the rear end. Hopefully its just a creaky bearing though!!

Rise creaks are almost always from where the short linkage arms "fit" on to the splined pivot shaft (middle of seat tube). The arms don't grip the splines properly and move slightly causing the creak.

The fix:   remove arms, clean arms and splines thoroughly, reassemble using Loctite 638 retainer on the splines. Leave to cure for 24-48 hours. No more creaking.

Check the shock bolt too. Upgrade from the standard aluminium to stainless steel.

Look at a Cascade link/Preload if you have the pennies.

Makes mine so much stiffer rear end - and better design (Mine hasnt creaked since)

Granted spendy option wouldnt say it transformed the bike but deffo made it much better - and No Creaks
