I'm in the market for an orange patriot, but I can't figure out what size I will need. Only looking for something to play about on, so going to get an older model, I'm 6ft 1, I'm guessing I will need an 18" inch frame - but not certain as I know the geom on downhill/freeride bikes is different which means I might need a smaller size. Can anyone give me a clue what size I need?
6ft on an 18" here(2012) I got mine as a big alpine trail bike that I can do a bit of Dh / uplift on, feels great but I've never liked tiny bikes, with a 50mm stem it feels near identical size to my Five with a 70mm stem.
Great,
+1 for 18".
I'm 6 foot and all my Oranges have been 18" frames (Subzero, G4 and Alpine 160). All been perfect.
5ft 11 and a 16" here
feels nice this size
6ft 2 on an 18" here
Right just need to find an 18inch now, looking over ebay nothing moron here at the mo
Few patriots on the orange bikes offers pages, pretty good prices....
Haven't got that sort of money at the mo,, would have to be the older straight bar frame
16" for the win i'd say
So you think 16" blower, any reason?
too clumbersome for the right stuff on that size imo..
most of lads i ride with like em a bit smaller especially in the Alps.
I always feel more in control on a smaller bike, noticed with a lot of the freeride Iv been doing the bike seems more in control than me.
So in your opinion,, 16" would work well for a 6fter ?
it would yes in my opinion of course
everyone is different aren't they.
try before you buy is the saying.although need to try on the proper stuff i'd say.
im 5ft 11 and run a 16"
orange wheel one is mi bike 😀
Nice vid! Can definitely see the appeal for a smaller frame over that stuff
