Anyone know the seatclamp size for the new p7 29er?

I'm getting some slippage with the dropper post. I tried tightening the qr loads but it stops it dropping! so going to try and get a more accurate torq with a non qr clamp. Anybody else had these sorts of issues with a dropper as this is my first time using one?

Can try some carbon paste too mate.

In theory allowing less torque to be used but still holding the dropper in place.

Cheers but I think it's got some carbon paste in there from when the shop built it up.

I'm a owner of a P7 29er, after buying a new dropper and clamp the post still dropped. Old school trick worked by putting a strip of cut pop can around the post. Albeit this worked it was not right a new frame and the seatpost was like a stick in a wizards sleeve, spoke to Orange and with no quibbles the frame was warrantied along with a colour of my choice, try it I must say their customer service is awesome.

That's good to know thanks.

I've had another look this morning and there doesn't seem to be a sweet spot. It either binds or is too loose. Suppose I'll have to contact the shop tomorrow.

Has anyone used one of those double clamps that clamp the seat tube and the post? Looks like it could do the trick. One of these Seat clamp

I'm having a similar problem on a frame - that clamp looks ugly but I'm going to try one, thanks!

Since you have a dropper you don't really need a QR clamp so a bolt through clamp might be worth a try. If you don't like the look of a double clamp Salsa Liplock clamps are good (although I suspect that a double would be more effective).

The Orange P7 page is showing a seatpost of 30.9 & a clamp size of 34.9 (at least for the current model).

I’ve a P7 29 and have had dropper issues since the day I got it. I’m pretty sure it’s not related to over tightening the seat clamp mind.

Mine has the Kore dropper and sometimes requires monumental force to get the thing to drop. I’ve had the thing out several times, tweaked the cable and all sorts, but no joy.

Anyone experienced similar?

The shop has changed my post for an SDG tellis. Not been out for a proper ride yet to see if it slips but the clamp is done up properly tight and the post raises and drops no problem so fingers crossed.
