Looking at getting a used orange five..Will be looking for the slacker geo model......Can anyone tell me which year the geo change came in and also whats the differences from say an 08 or whatever year it changed to the current 11/12 frame?

2011 was with the tapered headtube, larger seatpost for the uppy-downy brigade and ISCG tabs.
I think 2009 (or maybe 2010) was the first of the slacker geo - 67 degree head angle, etc.
2007 was the first year of the dropped/kinked top tube.

IIRC the '08 had a slightly steeper HA (68 off the top of my head) and was the first year designed for 160mm forks.
It also had the kinked top tube but slightly thicker downtube than '09.
2008 test by MBR. Geometry shows 68.8 - pretty steep compared to the 66 and 67's of lots of trail bikes now.
When I got my '07 Orange Five Orange's web site listed a head angle of something like 70 degrees.

Someone I know at Orange disputed these figures and the 'MBR measuring system', especially when compared to the 'super slack' '09. 😉
They went so far as to say the '08 and '09 were essentially the same bike - there were changes, but nothing anything like as fundamental as certain bike mags suggested.
