Just curious if anyone has tried this combo? Would be interested to hear how you found it compared to the standard Fox CTD?

I've got a CCDB Air, not the CS version.
I think it's a fantastic shock and really suits the bike. I think a simple suspension design really benefits from a more complex shock.
I didn't want the CS version as I found that the demo bike with the normal air didn't bob much.
I started on the base tune and added a bit more HSR and it's perfect! I don't really notice it which means it's doing its job.
Wouldn't change a thing. Personally I'd have a go on the normal version before spending the extra money on the CS.

Is the Climb Switch necessary? As I actually prefer climbing and flat pedalling on my Alline 160 with the Pro Pedal switched off on my RP23. And how much better is the CCDB over the standard Fox shocks as I'm thinking of upgrading.

I've ridden one with the coil version and can't decide on that or the air. Also the none CS versions seem to be quite a bit cheaper now the CS and Inline are so popular

I ran the setup for 9 months, CCBDCS.
Best purchase I made on the five. Selling it all now as i'm riding a SC Nomad.

Allterrain cycles selling the latest CS version for £427...tempting.

Reading around they certainly get a good write up, esp the CS version. I've not been overly convinced by the fox shock so far. No doubt the "wallowy" feel can be tuned out but the ability to really play around with the CCDB to get it just right does appeal.

I run a CCDB on my Five and it's ace, I've contemplated several times chaining to air to save some weight but I've read as good as the CCDBA is the coil is still better. So with that in mind along with the £250 or so it'd cost to swap it out I'm reluctant.

Still tempted though

I've got the CS version, works a treat when you want to wellie it up hill out of the saddle..
Technically proven to work better if your 5 is apple green 😀

Right that's it ordered. Lets see if they live up to the hype. nwill1 I was very tempted by the coil as everyone raves about them on the Five. However, being realistic it would be overkill for most of my riding. Just hope I wont regret going for the air over coil! Decided on the CS though as it seems it cant be retrofitted and the climbs round here are pretty steep & rocky so best to play safe.
