Have a dilemma, just been offered a mint orange five pro 2013 never been ridden, I know unbelievable!! And I really want it, but I'm 6ft 1.5 and when I rode it it felt fine, maybe a little over the front but I am used to a marin quake. Anyway it felt fine, I was throwing it around nicely but when I had a picture of me on it looked lit looked like I was all over the bike, I am a big lad at 16stone but really loved this bike but thinking to myself should I go for the 18 off my mate which is over a grand off rrp or put the extra for a 19"?
You tried the 19" mate? I run a 16" Five AM at 5'9" I have little legs and a long body, if the bike feels right both up and down hill then that's what's important
18" here and I'm 6 foot. Wouldn't want it any bigger.
No not the 19, but I'm pretty certain that the 19 would be my ideal size. As I rode a heckler at 19 and it was spot on
I thought the 26" five only came in 18" and 20" flavours, or is the one your mate is selling a 650b?
What size would 18 be classed as, large or medium?
with 6`1"..I had an 19" heckler and have an 18" five since 5 years now..
different size but both are spot on for me..
prefer the angles of the five
and wouldn`t want it any bigger...
I have a 2013 five 18inch and I'm 6ft 2 and find it spot on
Large heckler had a really short tt (up until 2012 at least), so roughly equates to a medium in any other size length wise.
Im 6ft2 and ride a 18" 08 Patriot.
Go on feel not on recommended charts from differing manufacturers or others opinions.
6'01" and ride an 18" Five it's just right!
Oh yeah and 18stone but went for CCDBAir and Fox 36s AM set up and EvoV4 brake kit with twin floating rotors.
Took it out for another ride after taking some pics on my quake and comparing. I knew it rode fine, so gave it a bit more of a push up a hill and absolutely fine. Iv had it for 1800 notes, pretty happy with that!
Bregante...... Also came in 17" on a 26er. One in my garage.
Sorry doesn't help OP
