Anyone got one? I’m considering building one up, any thoughts and pictures appreciated.

Cheers.

Yep.

Bought for summer riding on the moors. Just back from Epping Forest too.

Long, fun, fast. Climbs great. Eats singletrack. Bit bouncy on the downs if I were to find a fault. Hard to say much else if you’re going to do a self-build.

My other bike’s full sus so this is a breath of fresh air for when that’s too much bike.

Slight hijack.

Keen to get peoples thoughts vs Clockwork 129. I have a 27.5 bouncer (Five) and wondered in order to diversify the lineup a bit more in terms of mile muncher vs trail-banger I should consider 29 instead of 27.5.

Admittedly I’ve only ridden one 29er (a hardtail) but that was enough to convince me that I prefer 650b.

I’m 6ft so according to opinionated people, 29ers are better for me. Bollocks.

So both my full sus and hardtail are 650b and I’m incredibly happy with them. Nimble, roll easily. Circular. Resemble a wheel.

That said, I can’t/won’t preach as to what others will prefer. Get out for some test rides and see what suits best.

I've been looking at this too, concerned it may be too stiff for all day comfort.

Did you buy the 137s eyestwice or frame only? What fork you running if so.

Trevor.

I’ve got the clockwork 129. Without a doubt it’s the quickest hardtail I’ve ridden on the flat and for general trail riding. I’ve got practically all of my Strava PB’s on this bike.

I’ve got an older Clockwork 29er but it’s more XC  than trail, fancy a different playbike to what I have.

@thorpie The 137S. So basically straight out of the box.

@geologist I’m finding the same with the 137. It seems almost effortlessy quick.

Hmm. 137 or 129, I already have a 29er I use for everything, including commuting (built slightly biased towards commuting) and a Orange Four for playing on. For various reasons I  am thinking of selling the Four but I could use all the bits off it to make a wicked 137. Or I could keep the Four and swap the bits over from my older Clockwork to the newer 129. Think I’m leaning towards the 137 but don’t know. Might bob to Je James on days off and see if they have any in.

My experience is that they don’t. You must be near Sheffield? Wecome to come try mine if you fancy?
