Wonder if anyone can help, what is the size of shock that can be used on a 2006 Orange 5? Currently has a Manitou X3 on it with 190mm centres and 50mm stroke. As I would prefer to use Fox what are the options?? Thanks John.
190x50 is a standard size.
Use anything from anyone in that size. RP23 or DHX coil of some variety....
Cheers for that, unsure of what was the standard as I've just got the bike and Orange website doesn't carry this sort of info.
There is even a CCDB available in that size.
Basically - until recently its been one of the most common sizes of shock - you can buy new or 2nd hand easily in that size. The only other thing should be hardware to suit your shock - again easily available 8x22 only varience will be the make of the shock.
Which Fox shock are you looking to get? I have a nearly new Fox RP23 (not Kashima tho) in my spares box doing nothing since i swapped it for a CCDB (also an Orange Five). Let me know if interested.
Would take you up on the RP23 but 'er indoors will string me up if I spend anymore on bike bits, one guess who wears the pants in my house 😉

Can't help but notice a lot of shocks for sale with 200mm i2i size rather than 190mm, has anyone successfully fitted one on an Orange 5 and if so how much more stroke can be used??
