Have an 08 one which is an 18 and fits fine, but having a 30.5 inside leg I wouldn't mind a bit more stand over. Were I replacing it would a 17 do this without affecting other geometry ?
Same inside leg measurement and also ride a 18" Five but an 11MY
The 17" inch came out a couple of months after I bought mine and I did wonder if that would have been a better buy however I have no problems with the 18" so just get on and ride it.
The 17" frame does have a lower stand over height but that is the only difference between it and the 18".

Yes, the 17" is just the same frame as the 18", but with a lower top tube..... mine is a perfect fit.
As long as you are happy with the reach of the 18", but want more stand over, then a 17" would be perfect. The new curved top tube helps as well.
