Anyone ridden from Harter Fell across to Kentmere Pike trig point and then down to Hallow Bank?.

Looking at an alternative to The Nan Bield. Plan is Garburn, a Yolk etc across to High Street, drop to Nan Beild shelter then up on to Harter Fell. Done the drop left at the shelter, climb back up or head round and up on to Harter Fell, before dropping from the shelter to Kentmere before and fancy a change

Cheers

I've been up that way onto Harter and couldn't recommend it as a descent- a grassy, boggy and straight path. I'd recommend these alternatives:
Head further North along High Street, and descend Kidsty Pike Eastward to Haweswater (then pick route home). Fast, steep and techy in places.
or
From the The Beacon (Thornthwaite Crag) descend to Threshwaite Mouth - awesomely steep scree/techyness. Then either head South to pick up the roman road by Hagg Gill, or if you're feeling strong: Hike over Stony Cove Pike and along Ravens Edge, drop to Kirkstone Inn. Hike up onto Red Screes, descend SW ridge to Ambleside, over Wansfell to regain Garburn at Troutbeck.

@ the kettle. Cheers pal, couple of real nice options there and liking the idea of them all. Not fussed about hike a bike, well not after a chunk of the Borrowdale Bash and the 4 passes.

@postierich. If you mean the wide track down the Gatesgarth Pass, then yeah, Nan Beild every time as opposed to a wide double track, but looking fir something more taxing and along the lines of Nan Beild shelter going North down to the water
