Hi all,I'm going to be getting a new bike soon and after doing some searching I'm currently considering two bikes.
http://www.rutlandcycling.com/110011/products/trek-remedy-8-29-inch-2014-full-suspension-mountain-bike.aspx

Or thus

http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/CBOOCODX9/on-one-codeine-29-sram-x9-mountain-bike

They both are at the maximum sort of cost. Just interested to hear peeps opinions. Trek concerns me a little with having a high bb , on one does so because I'm not sure what after sales would be like?

The track looks like a bargain to me - if it's an am style bike you're after, I'd go for that….. 😀

If to the has a bearing I assume you know you have to collect Trek bikes in person - they can be shipped or bought online. Not an issue if you're near Rutland, but may impact otherwise!

Crispy,

What size of remedy are you after?
I am selling the same bike but the 9 version (19.5") for £1500 in a like new condition with a few upgrades.

Ive been riding a codeine for 5 months now,I cant speak for the Trek but I find the codeine way more capable and confidence inspiring than my previous bike(Kona coilair) even though it has less travel. Its stiffer than a stiff thing and way more nimble than you can imagine, it may not be the lightest 31lb in old money but being built for comfort myself I'd sooner have a couple pound over flimsy. Two riding buddies have since bought them as well and are loving them.

I see suspension brand as a big difference. The CC DBAir and Pike on the Codeine get great reviews. But if you like Fox, then the Trek may appeal more. Note that the Trek shock is their proprietary DRCV and not available aftermarket.

Edit - just saw that the Codiene doesn't have the DB Air shock any more. Or the Reverb. So that makes the Trek look a bit better IMO...
