As im fitting Hope V2 calipers and thanks to one stw member mentioning V2's take a specific rotor, I took a google and ordered a pair of them on ebay(Activesport)
Being Scottish I was grumbling a bit at the £105 outlay, but thats the cost of a pair of floating rotors be it the V2 or standard, or even the solid HD ones for that matter.
But whats arrived is a pair of vented floating rotors. So my £52.50/per has turned into a bargain, with these normally selling at nearly a hundred quid a throw. (These are the 203mm--183mm are the standard non vented)
Result 😀
activesport, I think, is Mark Anthony Cycles in Buxton? I think that if you search the forum then they;'vehad some issues with mail order, so you are indeed very lucky!
If they are definitely the old V2 rotors (which must be pretty old by now) and not the V4s - happy days!
i don’t want to be a buzz-kill, but do the vented rotors fit in standard callipers?
The V2 calipers arent standard. The V2 rotor is unique to V2 caliper, which are deeper and as theres only one caliper type. For V2 at 203mm the rotor is only available in vented. Had I ordered the 183mm, I'd have been sent standard floating V2 rotor, its just because i ordered the 203m that they sent the vented, its only that they appear to have become mixed up when pricing them(shhh nobody tell them, buggers charged me £7 postage for a small packet of hope orange bits the other day)
I think its the same with all the V's, V4 caliper can take standard (1.8mm) or vented(3.3mm) or the 2.3mm solid. ie you wont be able to fit a vented into an X2 or E4 caliper, only the V4 or V2.
