I think I used to use ~15ml in my old 2005ish Rebas.
3-8ml doesn't sound like a lot, any harm in using a bit more? it's just to lube stuff after all, not like the critical upper tube amount for damping control.
Well worst thing that can happen is You will not get full travel, but 10-15ml should not be a big problem. It's probably due to the different lowers design on the SID. I would like to think that the lubing oil is more critical then the damping one, plenty of it there and I would rather replace the MC unit rather then CSU assembly due to lowers wear.
With so little oil and the SID being quite expensive it means You probably have to look after it a bit more than after a Reba. However it does not take much time so not a big PITA.
I'm actually doing the service sooner rather than later because I'm not getting full travel, so I want to make sure the upper oil is correct as I understand this can affect travel.
Revelations also only have the same lower leg oil amount, and most others recommend ~5ml as well.
I'll probably go with the recommended amount this time, possibly increase (for longevity between lowers service) next time to see if it changes anything.
My sektors (solo air) take about 5ml. The coil versions use more so presumably it has an effect on spring rate.
