Anyone tried both? Similar in price but oneups slightly cheaper.

Have not tried RF carbon for years but remember my last ones had such a thin top coat they scratched up just looking at them. Not many opinions on the RF anywhere.

I can only comment on the OneUp aluminium bars that I've just purchased, but wow, they're a total game changer!

I was experiencing a lot of trail chatter through my arms and I tried and changed all sorts including a custom fork tune (fox 36 factory fork). Got a marginal gain from that then swapped to the aluminium OneUp bar on recommendation from a mate (who has the carbon version) and it feels like a totally different bike. I can't believe how they've killed the chatter, front end runs so smooth now. Big recommend 👍

Previous bars were Propain's in house brand, sixpack which I always felt lacked compliance.

Out of interest, what's making you want to change the bars?

Are you particularly attracted to the RF bars for a reason? There are good reasons why the OneUp is seem as one of the go-to carbon bars, tjey just seem to. have got it 'right'.

I can't comment on the RF, but I've been a OneUp carbon bar user for over a year and very happy with them.  Comfortable, the right sweep for me, stealthy looks (the finish seems to be pretty durable too) and competitively priced vs the competition.

How do the one up carbon bars compare against the alu ones in terms of vibration damping? Anyone know?

I run my bars at 760mm which is probably shorter than most. The RF come in 760 and say they are more compliant than chopping down wider bars. I mean that could all be marketing BS!

just wondering if the oneups are just as compliment when chopping down from 800.

I really don't see how they could be. Or any bars for that matter.

Probably still less compliant than most other bars. Unsure on this exact model but previous RF carbon bars I had (SXIC or something like that) were stiff AF. I've had the OneUps on my list to buy for a while as everything I've heard about them re compliance is positive.

I get less wrist pain from both my 1 piece syncros carbon and FSA gradient carbon bars than I do from the one-up carbon.
Same odi vapor grips on one-up and gradient.
If you're coming off heavy or 35mm alloy bars then sure most carbon will be more compliant.

I really liked the OneUp bars (at full length) when I tried them, we thought about them for my wife, but as she would cut them down to 750-60 we thought they’d lose a lot of their compliance. So she settled for Renthal Fatbar Lites as they’re designed to be 760mm.
not tried the RF bars, but their old 35mm carbon ones felt so stiff.

I've cut my oneups to 770 and they're totally awesome. Like I said above, game changer for me

I've had the carbon one ups for a few years now and they definitely work , I can be quite sceptical about the real life benefits of a lot of bike parts but the one ups definitely do what they say they do . The PNW alloy bars I have on my other bike aren't overly stiff at all but the difference is definitely noticeable..

The only issue now is id quite like to try a higher rise bar but the one up only comes in a max 35 mm .

Two sets of One Up carbon. Don’t really notice them until I go back to the hack bike with cheap alloy bars. Not putting expensive bars on that though.
Compliance in One Up comes from the oval section near the stem not the ends of the bars. There is a 740 minimum limit they recommend cutting them down to due to the brake levers ending up in the localised area.
Only issue is I think they have a small window of roll angle where they work best. Too far forward or back and you’re trying the flex against the oval profile in the wrong plane.

as above, nothing but good things to say about the one up carbon bars. a noticeable improvement on all the bikes i've fitted them on since using them for the past c 5 years in terms of reduction in hand pain.

not ridden race face carbon bars for a while, but remember them being very stiff

Love the OneUP bars, both Carbon & Aluminium, all at 770mm. I'm very picky about bars due to shoulder & cervical disc injuries!

This article is helpful, especially towards the bottom where they compare the compliance etc
