Is there any reason why a one up 42t wouldn't work with 9spd? Specifically with an slx 11-34 cassette?

Not the 42t at the rear, though. It's too go with the works 32t up front. 😉

Ah I see,

I messed up and bought the 34, they were sold out of 30's and 32's when i got mine. I have ordered a better set of legs and lungs.

Don't think it'll work with an SLX Cassette at all

Would be a little surprised if the spacing works right- presumably the One Up is the thickness of one sprocket + one gap between sprockets? Which is different for 9 and 10. I reckon it could be persuaded to go though, if maybe not perfectly.

Does seem that by the time you've done that, you probably might as well have swapped to 10-speed, the clutch mech is worth having too for a 1x setup so lots of mutual benefits.
