Put new oneup post on bike. Dropper works fine up and down except when I have my weight on it. I have to unweight saddle, push remote and then drop using weight.
Not normal surely?
Older OneUps used movement of outer cable to drive the post and could be sensitive to the amount of slack as a result
It's the newer actuator.
You probably already checked, but just in case...
1. air pressure 250+psi
2. seat post clamp needs to be pretty loose on this one
I haven't used the one-up dropper but the Tmars definitely requires you to unweight it before releasing and the command post is much easier to release if you slightly unweight. You don't want to be fully sat down anyway, you want to have some weight on your legs to control the drop.
Some droppers can be sensitive to angles too. If you've got a particularly slack seat angle and your saddle is back on the rails, you might have to sit further forward to make it go down.
I don't have to unweight at all. I am 58kg though so perhaps that works in my favour?
Is the lever itself stiff or does the dropper simply not respond to the actuation?
Can’t help with advice but my Oneup with the newer actuator doesn’t need you to i weight, then push the button then push down. Sounds like it’s binding or something - so guess the above comments about either a slack seat angle or the seatpost clamp being too tight are worth checking.
