- When the seatclamp is clamped normal, the dropper sticks and doesnt fully extend.

- When the seatclamp is clamped lightly, the dropper works perfectly, but the saddle rotates during riding as the seatpost isnt clamped enough

Anyone experienced this or know the cause ?

First thing I'd do is check the pressure in the post is where it needs to be, 250-300psi from memory.

Yep had this exact problem. Make sure the pressure is all the way up to the max rated (300psi IIRC), if that doesn't sort it then unscrew the collar and pull out the white plastic spacer, clean it up and give it a light coat of Slick Honey or similar and put it all back together (plastic spacer just slides in) then refit the colar, just barely hand tight, don't crank down on it.

That should sort it.

#EDIT: Incase you didn't know how, to get the spacer out, unscrew and lift up the collar and then lower the post a few inches and when you extend it back up it will pull the spacer up with it.

Had the problem that if at half mast for a while the post would return unless I sat on the saddle to activate the post.

Let of the pressure a little in the seat clamp and it works fine.

Use copper paste and peel back the ring on the seal and squirt some slippery stuff in there.

Everyone's said it - pressure likely too low, also, if needed, v easy to give it a quick clean and grease (I use Sram butter - learning that normal grease is not good, far too sticky! oops)

I've found I have to do this more often as the post gets toward it's second birthday.

OneUp recommend re-greasing the white bushing every 125hrs but that sounds like a long time to me so I do it every 50hrs to line it up with fork servicing.

In addition to the air pressure, some anti-friction compound or carbon assembly grease should help reduce the clamp torque needed to keep the post from rotating.

Hi everyone thanks for the help,

I had already checked the pressure and greased the inner white bushing/collar, didnt work.

Noticed that the white collar was the thing causing the friction when clamping the seatclamp, so decided to file/sand it so that it was thinner, working perfectly now and can really clamp the seat clamp !
