On a V2 dropper

You can see it in the cable service kit:

but a) no one has one and b) £14.50 and I only want the nut!

This from PNW https://www.mtbriders.co.uk/pnw-spare-parts/189-pnw-components-spare-parts.html#/253-replacement-dropper_post_barrel_nut looks similar but not sure if it'd work.

I know it works without (as that's how my current one is set up) but it's pretty stiff and nasty. Anyone come up with a decent bodge or know where I can get just the actuator.

Or if anyone has one hanging around, happy to exchange cash/beer for it!

Looks a bit like a solderless nipple. These are available in a few different sizes. Should be able to find them on ebay

I am so looking forward to googling 'solderless nipple' 🙂

I'll go take a look thanks! The issue is going to be size as I remember vaguely it being tiny. I do have one on another bike so I could go measure. But at £2, I'll probably take a punt off eBay.

Fox one should fit. Pretty sure I left the fox one in my cable when I swapped to the one up post.

I'm guessing your not using a remote where you can clamp the cable at that end? If you are, the cable end sits in the actuator without the barrel just fine.

Probably covering the obvious but just in case..

@nixie- thanks that looks close enough to try

@rockthreegozy, if I understand right, at the post end you can (and I have) just put the barrel into the green actuator but it's far smoother if you have that nut snugged up against the barrel and sat in the cut out in that actuator.

£5's a bit pricey!

Out of stock, but I'm sure if you google "Dropper post barrel nut" you'll find something

I'd email Oneup.
They've always been very helpful with a couple of small problems I've had.
They might even send you one with it being such a small part.

I emailed Oneup about this (April 2020) and at the time they didn't have stock of them as a spare.

They said "We have actually just incuded this peice in the post recently as it was included free of charge in manufacturing. We designed the post to work with out it. we all run ours without here"

Haven't chased it up again but no issues without here..

Bike Yoke use the same system, and you can order one on their site. Might fit?

Never used one on a one up post - both of mine are running fine with the end of the cable just in the actuator.

When I set up a brand x post for a mate last summer I was surprised to find they use one. I’d fitted it all then realised it was in the bag so went back and put it in. Not sure it’s massively essential though.

Thanks all. I've emailed one-up to see what they say.  A few options there in terms of getting something similar.

My own experience having three v2s (all 210s) on my bikes is the RipMo (wolf tooth lever, others are Shimano and One up) felt it was quite a lot harder to actuate.

Appreciate cable routing/age/lever are all relevant here.

Anyway whatever, I'm way better informed that I was earlier so thanks to all posters 🙂
