I'm not a fan of these either but the way standards keep romping on and bikes keep becoming obsolete almost before you buy them it's tough and more importantly, incredibly depressing trying to figure out what your dream build mega avalanche slaying knarpoon is now worth (or not worth). I have stuck my bike up for sale thinking at the end of the day some money in my pocket is ultimately better than a bike sitting in the cellar getting. Last ridden less than 10 miles about 12 months ago. The fatbike has well and truely killed it. It's a very well specced "enduro bike" of the trendy Transition brand, lots of hope, double barrel and saint/xtr bits, but it's 2013 so its 10 speed, non boost and 26inch wheels.

What's the most someone can ask of something like this?? I can say that it cost probably £4k to build.

I thought it's got to be worth 1k but I'm starting to think it might not even be worth that.

This isn't meant to be an add or anything it's just genuinely tough to figure out!

John

I’d list it at that, but expect to take less.

Strip it and sell the parts individually will get your better money / opens the market to more people for the majority of the bits.

Yes that was my thinking, although a lot or hassle sending everything. Although I do still have boxes for the bigger bits...

Problem is though you'll get naff all for the wheels, frame and forks so you still won't get much even split up.

Edit on second thoughts you might get a bit for the forks because decent 26" ones are probably getting a it rare now.

If you struggled on the wheels, you still have the option to just rip them apart and sell the hubs.

Well the forks are the newest bit, they are mattoc pros which are 650b compatible. I run 170mm on them but you have to pop a spacer in to prevent bottom out and then you have a 160mm 650b fork.

Depends what the wheels and hubs are. Some of the 26inch stuff is selling for a decent amount now that new parts are getting sparce.
Frame probably worth £200ish. Did these have a reputation of snapping? Possible to sell fron or rear triangle of so.
Drivetrains worth nowt really. You can buy ten speed dirt cheap new.

I think you’d be surprised. But I’d try eBay first.

I sold an old ibis mojo 26er on here the other day and think I put it on too low! There was loads of interest and the guy who got it seemed delighted! Still, I got a bargain myself so guess it’s karma

It’s a 6 year old 26’er, for which there is limited attraction unless you strike it lucky. You’ll probably get £600 for it, more if someone is after it specifically.
