Want to get something fun for my commute that can handle some off-road sections.

Looking to spend around £500 as I would hopefully sell my roadie which is not worth that much (RT-58)

Would hopefully get me motivated to ride to work more often but would also be used to replace my roadie for recreational rides (possibly spare wheelset).

Any recommendations? Seen one of these which is in price and looks quite handy, don't mind 2nd hand if totally decent like.

Saracen Hack 2 @ Edinburgh cycles for 550 looks a bargain (56 or 58 only though)

Norco Search but at Evans, but only in 56 or 58.

Norco Threshold in plenty of sizes (tried to convince my Wife that one of these would be the ideal bike to buy to celebrate the birth of our Daughter last October, but I got 'the stare'):

New Raleigh Mustang looks good, but probably over budget at £650 for Claris version.

The Mrs is very close to ordering a Mango AR to use as a winter road bike. There's not much info on them though apart from road.cc review. Which is pretty good to be fair!

Oh and there's a £50 code on their Facebook page.

Pinnacle Arkose in various guises always comes up, as does the Planet X London Road.

However take a look at the Jamis Renegade series (available from Evans) and the Verenti Substance (available from Wiggle).

I have a Jamis Renegade Expat on the way...

Hello. Sorry. Bit slow.

The Mango is really nice. But I would say that. But it is.

Greg May rode one and liked it. He still has it I think - http://www.gregorymay.ie/?p=2741

And Jason Miles uses one for training on -

Nice one Brant.

The Mango is hard to resist atm, seems a cracker of a bike, but which colour does one go with?

The Tiagra build seems good value with the upgraded stoppers etc
