I'm looking to get a garmin 530 or 830 and plan to share it with the wife as we rarely ride together due to work and family.

Can we use one device and link to two separate garmin connect phone apps which in turn are linked to our separate strava accounts? In my head it should be as simple as just connecting to one phone or the other but I bet it isn't.....

As ever my Google-fu has failed so I'm hoping STW will deliver yet again.

Don't think so...device gets registered to an account and can't be added to another - I've tried a few times.

You could do it manually.
Have 1 of you set up on Garmin connect with their Strava account linked to it.
The other person could manually upload to their own Strava account on a PC and then delete the activity.
It'd rely on keeping the person who has the Garmin account away from the devise (or have Blue Tooth turned off on their phone) until the ride has been uploaded as it'll try and sync.
