is it me or is it getting harder to find 9spd gear?

looking for new cranks after stupidly damaging the spindle/crank after forgetting to tighten the bolts after refitting my SLX xranks.

want something that can take a bash (more for the protection it offers my neck when inevitably shouldering the bike) and is 9spd...

can 10spd cranks be used with 9spd chain/set up?
or can someone tell me if this is a double set up? the blurb mentions only one ring (38t).

might just end up with another one of these...

...as far as I know, yes.

I've even happily used an 8spd chain with 9spd setup. And haven't died (yet).

I have a chainring on mine from blackspire that is listed as 9/10 speed so I would imagine they are compatible across the board.
