Morning all
Is it possible to use a straight steerer fork in an On One Smoothie tapered headset? I've had a look through OO site but can't see an option for a different lower cup.
Would I need a whole new lower cup or is there an adapter that would fit?

Crown race of your new headset sits strait onto it
Cut a slot in it as there a bugger to get on and off.
If you haven't bought the headset yet I would suggest the Nukeproof warhead they are a better headset in that they actually have the slot to remove the lower bearing...
not a bearing.Just an adapter for converting any tapered headset to 1 1/8 steerer.
Thanks for the replies guys, the Hope one looks just the ticket but the Nukeproof is only buttons so wins my vote.
A new headset will be an option in the future, just dont have the pennies spare now for a nice shiny Hope.

I've got both the Hope and Nukeproof race adaptors. The Hope is more expensive but fits much better IME. If you get the Hope for the love of God cut a slot in it before you fit it, they really are an almighty PITA to get off!!!
Despite the name the crown race the Smoothie comes with is for straight steerers. You actually have to buy a separate 1.5" crown race to make it fit tapered steerers. They don't appear to have any in stock which is probably why they're selling the headsets cheap
