I've recently built a Lurcher up from the frame. I single speed it.
When I ride it, if I'm really smashing it down decents, or absolutely smashing the pedals climbing it creaks really bad from the head stock area
Its had brand new Hope BB and Hope Headset in it, and I've stuck it through two bike shops for their opinions and there is nothing wrong with the BB or headset.
It feels flexy too....
Opinions or experience with these frames would be welcome. I'm waiting for it to snap on me to be honest!!!!
Cheers

Well with my Orange Alpine it turned out to be the spindle of the XT cranks which I only found out by ripping it to shreds on a climb - really, I have pictures to prove it.
I had been convinced it was BB or frame.
Hmm Mines cap'n creaky at the moment but put mine down to the Evil BB...I feel a Hope may be going in soon.
Ive been running mine with a carbon fork for about a year (20 miles a day 5 days a week 80KG rider)
and It hasn't self destructed.
The Whippet I had prior also creaked a bit but again I think that was the BB - really don't like PressShit.
Are you sure it's not the rear dropouts/swapouts?
If the bolts holding them on are slightly too long then that will cause creaking under power.
It was a known fault with the Scandal swap out frames and they use the same dropouts.
I've got both but have yet to SS my Lurcher.
