Jeesuz, they're booldy tiny. And thin. They just cover your ankles, like a trainer sock. I wish that had been in the description

On-One/Planet-X in wonky sizing shocker.

I got some gloves from Planet-X the other week. Size chart was waaaaaaay off. Said I needed a small.....ended up with XL.

...but I always order several sizes at a time to allow for this eventuality.

You can send them back if you are that unhappy - Distance Selling Regulations and all that.

They're not my cup of tea. Basically they're like a trainer sock and should be described as such

I ordered some arm warmers and thinny socks yesterday. Not expecting them to be the quality of my Woolie Boolie's but they'l go back if they are sh*te. Hopefully not.

Just what I was thinking. The thicky isn't as thick as a walking sock but any thicker and I wouldn't get them inside my MW80's.

Sounds like you bought thinnies, not thickies.

Hence they are thin, not thick.

Look forward to receiving mine, they look fine. And my thinnys will be for summer anyway...if we ever get one.

Coolmax socks are made with Coolmax 🙂

Yes - Coolmax is a performance synthetic polyester. Wool, cotton, metal, cheese and alcohol free.

Great thanks. Wikipedia seemed to suggest it was sometimes blended with wool and other stuff.

I will ofcourse complain when they are cool 😉

Could comment on armwarmer use regarding arse/elbow but probably best not.

thank you.

Dave has been somewhat obsessed with socks over the last six months, we've sold thousands in the last few days, and it's good to know that people are liking them.
I did 2hrs on pick/pack in the warehouse this afternoon to help us keep on top of orders. It's been amazing. Socktastic.

Northwind, don't waste good merino socks for that...for such activity I can recommend a Newcastle United sock...from a Sunderland fan

They were the thickies. They wouldn't have been so bad except they literally just came over my ankles. In my Shimano MW02's they would have just come to the top of the collar.

That height needs describing, that's all I'm saying

Are the armless bases continuing?

I am in the bath (no pics) but they aren't Thickys. So it's either a miss pick or a miss order.
Email me on him at shedfire dot com and I will send you another pack out.

So they can't be used for sock puppets? Is that a new law or something? 😉

Well mine have just arrived at work, along with some merino arm warmers. Less than 48hrs after ordering. Just tried them on and both socks and arm warmers fit (not tiny) and feel great. Quality looks good, or certainly good enough for the price. I'm a happy bunny, though time will tell.

Was looking at getting some of the socks & arm warmers. But...what is the arm warmer sizing like? I'm only 5'6 but Spesh ones in a large only just go over my upper arms & are probably only a couple of cm too long.

And what are the care instructions for merino wool? Hand wash only? Can't be doing with that, if they are.

Hey fatmax, which ones did you order? Thicky's or Thiny's?

Do they look like Brant's red stripey ones fit wise/

Thinnys, and aye they look like the fit of Brant's.
I'm a size 11 and got the L-XL and the fit is fine and dandyo.

Aargh...! Thanks.

I have ended up with the wrong ones then - Brant's on the case

(although, FFS, it is only some socks - how many homeless are there and how many trillions in the queen worth, and if she spent enough to put an end to it all, how many trillions would she have left?)

I tried on my arm warmers last night and thought they were a great fit and that they felt decent quality. I'm 6'5'' with thin monkey-like arms, and I felt they were long and tight enough - don't think they'll fall down while riding. For £5 they are a bargain.

How do you reckon these compare to woolie boolies? Ideally like to find something just a wee bit thicker

I think my missus has got me some of these for crimbo. I'm approaching 40 so it seems like an appropriate time to start getting socks as presents.

Northwind, if you're after some thick socks Cotswold Outdoors have some Merino hiker socks half price. Got a few pairs the other week - very cosy and thicker than Woolie Boolies. I'm wearing some today in fact. Toastie.
