These...

Potentially need a new rear hub for another wheel, not exactly rolling in cash right now (in fact I'm as good as broke!) so can't really afford the DT 240S I'd like. Anyone got any experience of these, good or bad? Or just buy a Shimano XT and grease it up properly before fitting?

I had a free hub fail on me but most of them I've had to get rid from th rims failing before the hubs did. I may be unlucky but I've not had great experiences with on-ones wheels and won be buying more of them.

I bought a set of the wheels a few months ago.

They are actually a nice strong build for the weight. But the front hub bearings are cack (or at least one of them) I had sticking and grinding, I regreased and replaced seals, same again after two rides. Regreased with more of a better grease... Still rather rumbly.

No problems on the rear tho. Plus the freehub sounds awesome.

A Quick google, and looks like the rear is as good as identical (wouldn't surprise me seeing as Brant's connections with both companies) to the Nukeproof Generator hub... Hmmm, the plot thickens! I like the 10mm QR on it too, beneficial as this is to go on a Full sus frame.

oddjob, what happened with your freehub? I'm not worried about rims in the slightest, already got some Mavic's I'd be using.

The front looks exactly the same as the Superstar Switch? Or, rather, the product-rebranded-as-the-Superstar Switch. Can't say for sure on the rear.

Rear hub here for bout 6 months. So far so good, spins real well, engagement feels quicker than my XT. Feels like a quality hub to me, guess time will tell.

Positive, except what do you mean by "sounds awesome"... Sadly my definition of awesome is usually quite different to other peoples, I like hubs that are near enough silent!

Me too! XT's are very very quiet. The On Ones are definately 'clicky', not as 'bad' as Hope, but I have got used to them and almost beginning to like the sound.
