every time i put power down through the cranks the rear QR slips in the drive side drop out and jams the tyre against the opposite chainstay. I've inspected it, the cam action looks normal, the bolt end cap looked a little smooth so i swapped it for another with more "bite" but still get the same result. I roughened up the outside of the drop out to aid purchase but it still continues to slip. hub contact point with frame looks fine and normal also
any ideas?
The on one qrs are shockingly crap. I know loads of fatty riders who had the same problem fixed by buying qrs that actaully work. Salsa are fab, hope arent bad and certainly better then the oo offering
Used to get that with an On-One slidey dropout, & solved with a solid nutted axle.
Guessing a Fatty axle is much longer though. 😐
slipping along a slot or pulling right out of a "proper" drop-out ?
If the latter, that's really rubbish but you're obvz more of a man than me - my SS 29er fatwheel has never slipped (is the dropout worn/damaged somehow?)
Yep as Tazzy says well documented issue with the On One Fatty rear QR. Salsa or Hope QR will fix it
scaredypants - Memberslipping along a slot or pulling right out of a "proper" drop-out ?
vertical dropout yes
Weird that as I built up a rolling chassis and my oo qr's have been fine.
been fine for the last 5 weeks until yesterday
Maybe they wear quickly and as a result yours is tired.
The little teeth on the back side of the non-skewer bit of the QR on mine got rounded off so it didn't bite into the dropout on the mech hangar. I got it to grip properly by filing sharper grooves into it
