What are these like for sizing (I'm a size 9 with a wide foot) and general everyday cold weather bootiness?
I had to go up one size.
(Normally 46, but these were too tight on the length. My foot is narrow, and went for a 47).
Used them a few time now and happy with warmer feet.
For the price, construction is good.
Good boots them.
Hmmm, I’ve been looking at these as well. Should I plump for these or spend the extra on the usual suspects? Decisions!
Are they in anyway actually shaped like feet?
Still need to search my giant bike spares box for a pair of brand new spare Time ATAC cleats I know I've got somewhere, so not ridden in them yet, but I've got a pair of the fluro yellow ones from Black Friday (yet ironically they've gone back down to £70 in New Year sale, hey ho).
Ordered the 43s as my feet are ~27.4cm, but my feet quickly swelled up wearing them indoors and squashed my toes, so I sent them back and ordered 44s which fit great.
I got some of these around Black Friday. I'm a 43 ( size 9 ish) normally. I have some Shimano mw7's in a 44 which are a nice fit but i'm really suffering with cold feet as I get older and they don't keep my feet warm over rides of 3/4 hours and thought the Das Boot looked promising. I got size 44 but they were far too narrow in the toe box. My feet aren't silly wide but they felt like my older shimano boots which were similarly pointy. I ended up with some Northwave Himalayas from Deporvillage. Might be overkill as they are more like a Wolvhammer style 'fat bike' boot but they are similar weight to Das Boot but fit loads better and are exceptionally warm.
Mate has, he likes.
Just ordered a pair. Let's see how they fit!
Are they warm and waterproof though as stated?
I got some planet X overshoes a while ago that were supposed to be warm and waterproof, but they weren't!
I think they come from the same factory as FLR shoes which have a much higher RRP, might be some reviews of those.
Anyone know of they’ll work with flats, or are the soles too hard?

Terribly. They are a clip in shoe.

Yes
Bugger. Too tight. Going back 🙁
! What size?
They are out of the size 43 I wanted to try. Normally UK 8-8.5 in others (e.g. some Mavics) but wanted to try a size up in these to allow for thick socks and toe-wiggle room.
These are 43 yellow ones. Yours for what I paid + postage!
Sent you a DM.
44 are out of stock too.
Well, a quick update for anyone looking at these boots.
I managed to get a pair of size 44s which must have been returned only to find that while they are fine length-wise, they are still quite narrow so not giving any wiggle room. The idea was to replace a pair of Mavics I've had for a few years which I can only wear with thin socks, so great for autumn/spring but below 5 degrees just not warm enough and I'm actually slightly better off with a merino sealskinz, summer shoe and overshoe combo.
Back they go...
Just got a pair of these (mtb 2 bolt version) in blinding fluoro yellow (you can see me a mile off lol)
Id been on the look out for reasonable value winter boots for a while as my Shimano MT7s are great in the summer but freezing in the winter as theyre so well ventilated and take on water like the Titanic. Over shoes help (I have a pair of gripgrab race thermo x), but dont fully solve the problem and get easily worn and damaged.
I was lookin at fizik artica x5s and similar but couldnt quite stomach spunking over 150 quid for a pair of bike shoes. This bought me to the planet-x das boot.
In terms of fit and feel they are very stiff, like a football boot with a reinforced toecap. The toe box doesnt give much wiggle room and they size like a Shimano meaning you should probably go up a size from your normal shoe (eg I got 46 when im more 44.5-45). I initially got my size and had to return it (which they processed very quickly I might add), but the upped size replacement is far more comfortable. I would probably say people with very wide feet might struggle as you might end up with a shoe thats too long when you finally reach a comfortable width.
In terms of performance, I went out for a muddy blast in 4-7 degree weather yesterday and my feet were cosy and toasty the whole way round in only thin summer socks (my face was freezing), whereas my MT7s would have been very cold without a couple of layers of winter weight socks and overshoes. Admittedly only 21 miles and circa 2 hours of testing, but I see no reason for them performing much worse over a longer period.
I havent tested the waterproof and submersion ability yet, but given the toe box and cleat seems pretty well sealed, I am hopeful (I used to dread having to dab in the middle of a big puddle with the MT7s).
So all in all seem good value after very limited testing, but ask me again in a years time lol.

Glad that I didn't sell you my 43s!
Managed to shift mine to a mate who has smaller feet than me. He's happy, but I've ended up with a spare pair of cleats and no shoes to put them in.
Anyone got some 46s that dont fit?
