I bought an OO Codeine last year from the classifieds.
I think it's about time I did some maintenance on the rear suspension, but while I'm pretty confident about how to approach this on my hardtail, I'm clueless when it comes to a FS.
What do I need to do? Or perhaps just take it to my LBS?
Thanks
take the wheel out and chain off (reason for chain is it gets int he way checkign the supension movement if the wheel is out).
let all the air out of the shock.
move the back end up and down feeling for any notchiness or if it needs effort to move it.
Remove shock and get it serviced.
again check rear suspension for any notchiness or side to side movement at any of the pivots. Visually inpsect them all to make sure that the outer bearign race isn't moving in the frame.
any issues replace all the bearings (my experience is once one goes the rest follow).
refit wheel and chain, check sag.
If you need to replace the shock mount bolts, use the female bolt from ths https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/nukeproof-scalp-shock-bolt-kit/rp-prod61535
You will need to buy 2 .
