I'm thinking of selling my 5 spot to move onto either a 650b or a 29er.

I was wondering if anyone had ridden both the codeine and the 5 spot that could maybe give me a direct comparison please.

Codeine owners what size do you ride for your given height ?

Many thanks.

Steve

I had a 5 spot for a few years(Horst link) version .. Had a codeine for few months both size medium.. I'm 5'11

Codeine had me riding Silly stuff I'd never have thought possible .. 29" wheels/geometry of codeine felt way more capable to me ..

Codeine only went as I'm still more roadie at heart ..

I rode a pals' Codeine, his large was too small for me (6'2") and he normally buys mediums.

Bike was impressive though, but IMO unless you ride fast/hard and over really rough ground it'll be wasted.

But, don't waste your money, just ride the 5-Spot.

I had a 2011/12 5 Spot and I loved it and now I have a Codeine and I love it even more, it's very capable and way faster! My review of my Codeine is here Codeine Review

I'm on a large Codeine and I'm 6'2", would like it to be a little longer, but its a lot longer than my old 5 Spot.
