Excuse the mechanical naivity but I'm still fairly new to this mechanicing thing...

So, have a Deore HTII bottom bracket and chainset, been in for a year or so now.Yesterday I found there is a lot of play in the crankset -not side to side, it just waggles in the BB.

Does it just need tightening up, or is the BB and/or crankset likely to be stuffed to kingdom come? Not sure what I should be looking for when I take it apart and check.

Any advice/pointers much appreciated. Cheers

I can probably afford a new BB if that is all it is. 😀
