First time this this has ever happened to me. Chain is only a few weeks old as well!
Yep, that wood looks like it needs a coat of something before you sit down on it.
When this happens to me, I blame it on the obvious - I'm putting out too much powa!
Last SRAM chain I had nearly cost me the ability to father children! I stick with Shimano now.
Matt, it’s a table 😀😀. But yes, I agree it’s been abused somewhat
as mentioned on the hard drive thread, bathtub curve, if it's going to go it will generally either happen at the start or of old age.
Can I run a Shimano chain on a sram 1x11 set up?
Yes.
You think you nearly died, well I've got news for you. Later on in life you will actually die.
Were you changing gear under a lot of load of or something op?
I did a full club ride and a few commutes with a chain that kept clicking and making scary noises When I eventually got round to looking at it I discovered that one side of a link had broken off, leaving it connected on one side only.
I was gobsmacked at the strength differential between the side that snapped and the side that did over a hundred miles on its own.
Must get better at bike maintenance
