I'm trying to fit a rear disc caliper to a trek frame but the IS mounts are to close together for the shimano adaptor. Do I need an A2Z adaptor? Anyone got advice?
Cheers

Stick to V brake?

Trek had old post-a-like-mounts which took an old (Rockshox?) cable caliper - like tallie's thread.
Also a dropout with 2 holes either side of the axle, into which another proprietry adaptor bolted (exeterben's % mogsuncle thread).
Thanks. It is the narrower IS adaptor that I need. At present I can only find it on a North American eBay site. The search continues.
Think I have found one at Cycleworld. Thanks
Not being funny, but make sure you are buying the right thing - the way you describe it suggests you may not be!
boxelder first link is good. If you have a 2001- 2005 Trek, most came with two holes close together- approx 40mm. You buy part 210648, a disco-adaptor from a Trek dealer and bolt it on with 2 x 6mm steel bolts. This allows the I.S. 51mm caliper to be installed. If you have a 1998-2000 Trek (mid-to top end models) they installed the Hayes 22mm standard on the chainstays...the two holes where the caliper mounts is 22mm apart!
hope that helps
I have gone with bow elders link ( photo pinches link). It looks to be identical, if not the part can be returned. Thanks for the help.
