Looking for a very light Aluminum hardtail frame that will take a 100mm 1/8 steerer fork and 26" wheels.

What is there out there? Plenty of Ti and Carbon frames for taper forks and 29'ers, but not much of what I'm looking for.

cheers

It's a shame my unused Kinesis Maxlight is in Spain - sounds just like what you want.

I've got a Gary Fisher Frame 2001 I think if you're interested.

This would be ideal if right size. Blatant plug, but hey ho!

Bum. I'm 5'10", so a bit small for me.

I'm currently looking at the Carbon Cycles website where they offer Carbon frames that will accept the bits I'm starting out with. Very tempted by these, if not, the Maxlight is looking just the ticket.

Grab a 5-6 year old stumpy frame 2nd hand? Tis where my money would go...

Edit: infact i would get this! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Specialized-S-Works-Stumpjumper-Hardtail-Frame-Medium-/171011191100?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item27d10fb13c

The Maxlight is a medium - 18" - but I think it would cost at least £50 to post it. I'd love to see it being ridden again - it's sooo comfy but just too little bike for where I live. And at 6 foot it's a tad too small for me.

Sorry, but I;m looking for something shiny (New or NOS), otherwise my old Kona Kula would not now be serving as the base for a utility bike!

I have exactly what your after.

Excellent bike. I might be persuaded to part with the frame for the right offer but its one of those things where it will be a sad day if I ever sell it. Its in A1 condition and as 100mm xc hardtails go this bike is close to perfection.

If you have been looking at carbon frames you should consider the on-one whippet at £299
