Just changed the tandem from 11-32 9 speed to 11-34 9 speed, both M770 XT.
They both have little pegs sticking out of the back of the largest sprocket. On the 11-34 they foul the spokes ever so slightly but not on the 11-32. They look like the ends of the rivets that hold the sprockets to the spider.
Anyone had this and overcome the issue? Presumably either a spacer or grind the pegs back a mil or so. It's weird that one has the problem but not the other...
Oh, and soz for dredging up the olden days... 😉
No issue on my Crossmax SL. About 2mm clearance.
You mean the 4 outermost pins in this view? From what i can recall they were meant to stop the chain dropping down the back of the cassette. They didn't work.
Sorry for forgetting all about this. Yes, the four outermost pegs. I just dremelled (verb: to get rid of) them back a mil or so and all is good.
Oh thank Bob. We were so worried.
The 34 did foul on certain set ups. It was a known issue
Old school? about a decade?
