I have an old (10 years at least, so well out of any warranty) Camelbak Mule, it has a smaller zipped compartment on the outside and the fabric on the zipper has worn through in one spot and is becoming a pain to zip up.

My local dry cleaner said she couldn't replace the zip due the way it was sewn in and recommended the shoe menders a few doors down, they weren't interested and said try the dry cleaners. There are other dry cleaners etc in town but any recommendations of companies who could put in a new zip?

Thanks.

It's probably going to be cheaper to buy a new bag.

You might be able to use a zip repair. This is where a new zip, zips into the old zip but you would have to know what teeth the zip has so it fits. I've had limited success with these.

I tried to get one repaired locally but noone would touch it.

When I asked I think someone recommended a mail order firm that could do it,but it wasn't cost effective.

Scottish Mountain Gear, but not cost effective unless you're emotionally attached to an item.

Thank you, I'll try these companies as it's only this zip that's on it's way out so rather repair than spend circa £60 on a new bag
