I've a wheel to build that I want to do as cheap as poss so re-using old spokes, but I'm missing 2 spokes :(, If I buy 2 new spokes will there be any problems mixing the old and new? Guess not as people replace spokes when they break?

I've nto had problems using like for like replacements.

If you broke two spokes you;d replace them without worrying?

That'll probably be fine,

There is an issue when you start snapping spokes and you start replacing them, eventually it gets to a point where the older ones just start snapping far too often, so at that point you rebuild all new.

But just two new vs rest old spokes will be alright.

That was my thinking.

Great.
As an aside, I love building wheels, but sorting through a large box of spokes last night of various sizes, holy crap why didn't I used to label them with sizes etc when I tore down a wheel in the past. Trying to sort them into size order was a right PITA.

sounds ok to me.

Make sure you unwind spokes gradually rather than wind one all the way out and then the next.

Make sure you align spokes in the same orientation on the hub (you'll see indentations from the old lacing pattern)
