In preparation for getting central heating put into our place (must be getting soft in my old age!) I need to sort out the oil tank this weekend.

We've got a tank but will need to decide on location. Having been on the building regs site and looking at other installations it seems a bit unclear as to wether the tank can sit on a flat concrete pad or if it has to be raised above ground level on breeze blocks with slabs on top.

I'm guessing but is this down to some systems needing to have the tank elevated above the feed to boiler and some not?

Tanker hoses seem to be in region of 45m long but do require either a line of site between tanker and tank or some security devices fitting if that isn't an option.

Anyway, before getting the concrete out has anyone done this and able to offer some advice?

Cheers
