[Closed] Offset/asymmetric rims - how to build the wheels?

I thought I'll treat myself to a nice pair of wide rims for my 29er. All was well until I've tried to lace the hoops - can't fit last three spokes(nipples don't thread on). Do I have to use longer spokes on the offset side?
Also, before I'll make a right mess - the "wider part of the rim" on the front should be on the disc side, at the back on the drive side?
